Xuan excels in bridging the gaps between design and development.
Xuan evaluates design needs through a technical lens, organizes designs using engineering patterns, and constructs scalable, component-based design systems.
Xuan is also experienced in creating interactive design tutorials and detailed tech specs to speed up design onboarding and engineering implementation.
When working with other designers, Xuan guides them to identify and implement reusable patterns to maximize consistency and efficiency. Xuan also partners with engineers through documentation, office hours, and code reviews to ensure parity between design and code.
Since 2017, Xuan has specialized in design system and design integration, deeply involved with the evolution of the Alexa-enabled Echo Show device family. Before that, Xuan designed and coded internal applications for the Pacific Northwest National Lab and Seattle local startups.
Outside of work, you can find Xuan busy in cooking, hiking, or practicing a Japanese martial art called Kendo 剣道.
Xuan also runs a travel blog (written in Chinese) with her partner, documenting their road trips and outdoor experiences. The evergreen Pacific Northwest and the sun-baked Southwest have been Xuan’s favorite destinations.
